How was that selection made?
Looking at the market leaders With live chat feature out there, we found Crisp via Producthunt. After we have made a Spreadsheet with numerous live chat sellers, we defined the core feature and metrics we were looking for.
What did we use before?
We have Used several other live chat before, which somehow shifted their attention from a live chat to a”all in 1 business suite”. Their live chat still works, but metrics which are important for us were removed. We have used those metrics for our yearly reports, and client overviews, growth rates and much more. After we were in for four months those metrics vanished and were replaced with other metrics. We’ve obtained a leaderboard for our staff members, which we did not use because we’re searching for quality support rather than quantity and the pricing appears to outperform the benefit. So our decision was clear at that moment: we needed to move on.
Chat history
We found 14 days background, 30 days History and unlimited history (for higher plans that this is common), here the cost scaling was intriguing. All live talks we tried had this feature, some at higher price tags, others combined with a poorly executed search feature, therefore the history was not available. Together with Crisp, the boundless history is currently available with their first paid plan, and it not only ships with a reasonable price tag, also their hunt works astoundingly well.
How many connections do we need?
First, we tried to answer that Question with another question”how many customers will talk with us” – and that was incorrect – we made that mistake already once. We can’t restrict on the connections we create because we really wish to earn contact with them all. Endless contacts was exactly what we were looking for (at an affordable price label ). What we found were discussions with 100 active contacts for $0/month which was quite nice, we climbed up that a little to 1,000 active contacts and the price tag shifted from $0/m to ~$125/m or more (~$500/m). We have had that experience of cost scaling for most of the solutions. As we did exactly the same contact metric evaluation for Crisp we watched something different:
So at Crisp, you do not scale by usage – which is enormous! They think the same way we do at Storyblokwe don’t want to restrict the consumer to the use of the system (eg. Content entrances or contacts), we would like to scale because their team scales. So at Crisp you choose a plan and you can scale the numbers from 10 to 10.000 contacts (or much more ) with the exact same price tag.
Trigger events / messages
Automated triggers are Utilized to Send a specific message on predefined events, eg. “a guest is on the exact same website for over 30 seconds”. Those triggers are a fantastic method to help your audience with queries they may have. We use it on our pricing page since from time to time there are open questions about our pricing, maybe something isn’t covered in the FAQ section. This part is available in most solutions we analyzed and largely available in the very first paid program.
Possibility to send campaign messages
From time to time we send emails Using our live chat. We think it’s a good way to retarget our audience because we should be able to send pertinent content based on some metrics people live chats provide. In all honesty, we’re not sending many mails, because we also hate spam on our side. Therefore we want to send certain emails to specific target groups and : we really like the execution in the Crisp client. It’s simple and fulfilled our needs at a reasonable price tag.
Amount of brokers
The agent seats is rather Intriguing, it’s something you can control. You could choose 1 accounts for the entire group (which can be cheap with the majority of options ), or you might go for one seat for each team member. Since we like to have this personal approach to our customers the notion of using one accounts for the entire group was dropped instantly. We’ve begun to compare the first paid plan contrary to the majority of the high tier plans to observe how the cost scales again. The greatest prices we discovered were approximately ~$155/m per chair where the scope was somewhere from $15/m to that. We had a peek at Crisp again and saw their greatest package has unlimited agents chairs included. Also, their free plan permitted 2 representatives, which was great for testing. Software Compatibility
Everybody enjoys integrations. Integrations into Slack, Telegram, Zendesk, Bitbucket, or Jira – you name it. Most live chats provide integrations into the key channels. We don’t actually utilize integrations that much, but the one we use the maximum is using Slack. Slack is the principal communication tool in our business, we use it on a daily basis and included most of our tools already – so we focused on how they operate and perform together with Slack. We analyzed some of these and many are actually working quite well. We found one which has huge delays when messaging from and also to Slack that was a no-go for us. We reported that difficulty to these, but we don’t know whether they changed it since we left six months ago. Together with Crisp the integration worked instantly, notifications arrived immediately and the entire set-up was completed in a couple of minutes.
Control the client via JavaScript
We are using the live chat not Only on the site but also in our application itself. Clients may want to report a problem or merely have a fast question about something, therefore the lead integration, and a possibility to initialize and hide/show the client with JavaScript was a must-have. It was possible with the majority of live chats we’ve attempted, the documentation of Crisp about their JavaScript SDK is clear and well recorded so we got that running in under half an hour.
What is Crisp?
“Crisp is the simplest way To speak with your customers. From sales to client support, Crisp is designed to keep your workflow easy. From live chat to email, Crisp provides a single station to answer to your users using a simple team inbox where you can handle all your user inquiries.”
From our experience, Crisp really Ships with the attention on that chat experience for your customers. Which is exactly what we were looking for as we evaluated other alternatives.
Pricing
This one is tricky. If you read The past few things you noticed that we compared the lower grade programs and feature with the maximum tier plans, some are economical at the beginning and become expensive as you use them. After using Crisp for six months today, and switched from a competitor because of the expensive”ending” and those feature we did not need but would need to pay for. We’re glad to state that we believe we got the best match for us, maybe it will fit as nicely for you. We saw that the listing of 8 facets above is all you need to find your own best match.
Summary
We made contact with unbelievable great people (thank You!) And businesses all over the world. We might have had the same experience with other live chats as well, but the price tag combined with the attribute set Crisp does provide, we’d and do recommend it to all clients that are looking for a live chat . We’ve updated to the Crisp endless plan some time ago, and are glad we made that decision.
