Why Select Crisp? Chatting Apps
In this article I’ll cover our Expertise with Crisp, the reason we switched, and the way you can make the perfect choice for your company and startup as well. You will understand how to compare live chats and which metrics could be important for you too. Chatting Apps
How was that selection made?
Taking a Look at the market leaders With live chat feature on the market, we also found Crisp via Producthunt. After we have made a Spreadsheet with numerous live chat sellers, we identified that the core attribute and metrics we were looking for.
What did we use before?
We have Used multiple other live chat before, which shifted their focus from a live chat to an”all in 1 business suite”. Their live chat still works, but metrics which are important for us were eliminated. We have used those metrics for our yearly reports, and client overviews, growth rates and much more. After we had been in for four weeks those metrics disappeared and were replaced by other metrics. We have got a leaderboard for our team members, which we did not use because we are searching for quality service rather than quantity and the pricing seems to outperform the benefit. So our decision was apparent at the moment: we had to move on.
We found 14 days background, 30 days History and history (for higher plans this is common), also here the cost scaling was intriguing. All live chats we attempted had that feature, a few at higher price tags, others combined with a badly implemented search feature, therefore the history was not accessible. With Crisp, the unlimited history is currently available with their first paid program, and it not only ships with a reasonable price tag, also their hunt works exceptionally well.
How many connections do we want?
We tried to answer that Question with another question”how many customers will chat with us?” – and that has been incorrect – we made that mistake already once. We can not limit on the contacts we create because we really want to earn contact with all of them. Endless contacts was what we were searching for (at a reasonable price tag). What we found were chats with 100 active contacts for $0/month that was quite pleasant, we scaled that up a little to 1,000 active contacts and the price tag switched from $0/m to ~$125/m or more (~$500/m). We have had that experience of price scaling for most of the solutions. As we did the Exact Same contact metric test for Crisp we saw something different:
So at Crisp, you don’t scale by usage – that is huge! They think the identical way we do at Storyblokwe don’t want to limit the user to the usage of the system (eg. Content entries or contacts), we want to scale because their staff scales. So at Crisp you choose a plan and you may scale the amounts from 10 to 10.000 contacts (or much more ) with the same price tag.
Trigger events / communications
Automated triggers are used to Send a particular message on predefined events, eg. “a visitor is on the exact same site for over 30 seconds”. Those triggers are a good method to help your audience with queries they could have. We use it on our pricing page because from time to time there are open questions about our pricing, possibly something is not covered in the FAQ section. This part can be found in most solutions we tested and largely available in the first paid program.
Ability to send campaign emails
From time to time we send mails Utilizing our live chat. We think that it’s a fantastic way to retarget our audience because we should be able to send relevant content according to some metrics people live talks provide. To be honest, we’re not sending many emails, because we hate spam on our side. So we like to send specific mails to specific target groups and again: we really like the execution in the Crisp customer. It is simple and satisfied our needs at a reasonable price tag.
Amount of brokers
The agent chairs is kinda Interesting, it’s something that you can control. You could choose 1 account for the whole group (which is cheap with most solutions), or you might go for a single seat for every team member. Since we like to get that personal approach to our clients the idea of using one accounts for the whole group was dropped instantly. We’ve begun to compare the very first paid plan against most of the high tier plans to see how the cost scales again. The greatest prices we found were about ~$155/m per seat where the scope was somewhere from $15/m to that. We had a look at Crisp again and found that their greatest package has unlimited agents chairs included. Also, their free strategy permitted 2 agents, which was great for analyzing. Chatting Apps
Everybody loves integrations. Integrations to Slack, Telegram, Zendesk, Bitbucket, or Jira – you name it. Most live chats provide integrations into the key stations. We do not really use integrations that much, but the one we use the maximum is with Slack. Slack is the main communication tool in our company, we use it on a daily basis and added most of our resources already – so we focused on how they operate and perform with Slack. We analyzed some of them and many are actually working very well. We found one that has huge delays when messaging from and also to Slack which was a no-go for us. We reported that issue to these, but we don’t know whether they changed it because we left six months ago. With Crisp the integration worked immediately, notifications came immediately and the entire setup was done in a few minutes.
What is Crisp?

This one is tricky. If you read The last few points you saw that we compared the lower tier plans and attribute with the maximum tier programs, some are economical at the beginning and be costly as you use them. After using Crisp for six months today, and changed from a competition because of the pricey”ending” and those feature we didn’t need but would have to cover. We’re pleased to say that we think we have the best fit for us, perhaps it will fit as nicely for you. We saw that the list of 8 aspects above is all you need to locate your best match.
We made contact with incredible great people (thank You!) And businesses all around the world. We could have had the exact same experience with other live discussions as well, but the price tag combined with the attribute set Crisp does offer, we’d and already do recommend it to all of customers that are searching for a live chat themselves. We’ve upgraded to the Crisp unlimited plan some time ago, and are glad we made that decision.
