How was that decision made?
Taking a Look at the market leaders With live chat feature out there, we also found Crisp via Producthunt. After we’ve created a Spreadsheet with numerous live chat sellers, we defined the core feature and metrics we were searching for.
What did we use previously?
We’ve Used multiple other live chat before, which somehow shifted their focus from a live conversation to a”all in one business suite”. Their live chat still works, but metrics that are important for us were removed. We’ve used those metrics for our monthly reports, and customer overviews, growth rates and much more. After we had been in for four weeks those metrics disappeared and were replaced with other metrics. We’ve obtained a leaderboard for our staff members, which we did not use because we’re looking for quality support rather than quantity and the pricing seems to outperform the benefit. So our decision was apparent at that moment: we needed to move on.
Chat history
We found 14 days history, 30 days History and unlimited history (for greater plans this is common), also here the price scaling was interesting. All live talks we attempted had that attribute, a few at higher price tags, others together with a poorly implemented search feature, and so the background was not accessible. Together with Crisp, the boundless history is already available with their original paid plan, and it not only ships with a reasonable price tag, but also their hunt works exceptionally well.
How many contacts do we want?
We attempted to answer that Question with another question”how many clients will talk with us” – and that was wrong – we made that mistake already once. We can not limit on the contacts we create because we really want to make contact with all of them. Unlimited contacts was exactly what we were looking for (at a reasonable price tag). What we found were discussions with 100 active contacts for $0/month that was quite pleasant, we climbed up that a bit to 1,000 active contacts along with the price tag shifted from $0/m to ~$125/m or even more (~$500/m). We have had that experience of price scaling for the majority of the solutions. As we did the same contact metric test for Crisp we saw something different:
So at Crisp, you don’t scale by use – that is huge! They believe the same way we do in Storyblok, we don’t want to restrict the consumer to the usage of the machine (eg. Content entries or entries ), we would like to scale as their staff scales. So at Crisp you choose a program and you can scale the amounts from 10 to 10.000 contacts (or much more ) with the exact same price tag.
Trigger events / messages
Automated triggers are Utilized to Send a specific message on predefined events, eg. “a guest is on precisely the same website for more than 30 seconds”. Those causes are a good method to help your audience with queries they could have. We use it on our pricing page because from time to time there are open questions about our pricing, maybe something is not covered in the FAQ section. This part can be found in most options we analyzed and largely available in the first paid plan.
Possibility to send campaign emails
From time to time we send mails Using our live chat. We think it’s a good way to retarget our audience because we ought to be able to send pertinent content based on some metrics people live chats provide. In all honesty, we’re not sending many emails, because we also hate spam on the side. Therefore we want to send certain emails to specific target groups and : we really enjoy the execution in the Crisp client. It’s straightforward and satisfied our needs at a sensible price tag.
Amount of brokers
The broker chairs is rather Interesting, it’s something that you can control. You could choose 1 accounts for the whole group (which is cheap with most options ), or you might go for one chair for each team member. Since we like to have that personal approach to our clients the notion of using one accounts for the whole team was dropped immediately. We’ve begun to compare the very first paid plan against most of the high tier plans to observe the way the cost scales again. The greatest prices we discovered were about ~$155/m per seat where the scope was somewhere from $15/m to this. We had a peek at Crisp again and found that their highest package has unlimited agents chairs included. Additionally, their free strategy allowed 2 representatives, which was great for analyzing. Software Compatibility
Everybody loves integrations. Integrations to Slack, Telegram, Zendesk, Bitbucket, or Jira – you name it. Most live chats provide integrations to the key stations. We don’t really use integrations that much, but the one we use the most is using Slack. Slack is the principal communication tool in our business, we use it on a daily basis and included the majority of our resources already – so we concentrated on how they work and function with Slack. We analyzed some of these and most are actually working quite well. We found one which has huge delays when messaging from and to Slack which was a no-go for all of us. We reported that issue to these, but we do not know if they changed it because we left six months ago. With Crisp the integration worked instantly, notifications came immediately and the entire setup was completed in a couple of minutes.
Control the client via JavaScript
We’re using the chat not Only on the site but also in our program itself. Clients may want to report an issue or simply have a fast question about something, therefore the direct integration, and a possibility to initialize and hide/show the client with JavaScript was a must-have. It had been possible with the majority of live chats we’ve attempted, the documentation of Crisp about their JavaScript SDK is clear and well documented so we got that running in less than half an hour.

Pricing
This one is tricky. If you read The past few things you saw that we contrasted the lower tier programs and attribute with the highest tier programs, some are cheap at the beginning and become expensive as you use them. After using Crisp for six months today, and switched from a competitor because of the expensive”ending” and those attribute we did not need but might have to cover. We are pleased to state we believe we got the very best fit for us, perhaps it will fit as well for you. We found that the list of 8 aspects above is all you want to locate your best match.
Summary
We made contact with incredible Fantastic people (thank You!) And businesses all around the world.
