How was that selection made?
Looking at the market leaders With live chat feature on the market, we found Crisp via Producthunt. After we have created a Spreadsheet with multiple live chat sellers, we identified that the core attribute and metrics we were looking for.
What did we use previously?
We have Used several other live chat earlier, which somehow shifted their focus from a live chat to a”all in one company suite”. Their live chat still functions, but metrics which are significant for us were eliminated. We’ve used those metrics for our monthly reports, and customer overviews, growth rates and more. After we had been in for four months those metrics vanished and were replaced by other metrics. We have obtained a leaderboard for our team members, which we didn’t use because we’re searching for quality support rather than quantity as well as the pricing appears to outperform the benefit. So our choice was clear at that moment: we needed to proceed.
Chat history
We found 14 times background, 30 days History and history (for greater plans that this is common), here the price scaling was intriguing. All live talks we attempted had this attribute, some at higher price tagsothers combined with a badly implemented search feature, and so the history wasn’t accessible. With Crisp, the boundless history is already available with their first paid program, and it not only ships with a reasonable price tag, also their hunt works exceptionally well.
How many contacts do we need?
We tried to answer that Question with another question”how many customers will talk with us?” – and that was incorrect – we made that mistake already once. We can not limit on the contacts we create because we really want to earn contact with them all. Endless contacts was what we were looking for (at an affordable price label ). What we discovered were chats with 100 active contacts for $0/month that was quite nice, we climbed up that a little to 1,000 active contacts and the price tag shifted from $0/m to ~$125/m or more (~$500/m). We have had that experience of cost scaling for the majority of the solutions. As we did the same contact metric test for Crisp we saw something different:
So at Crisp, you do not scale by use – that is enormous! They believe the same way we do at Storyblokwe do not wish to limit the user to the use of the machine (eg. Content entries or entries ), we would like to scale because their team scales. So at Crisp you choose a plan and you may scale the amounts from 10 to 10.000 contacts (or more) with the exact same price tag.
Trigger events / messages
Automated triggers are Utilized to Send a specific message on predefined events, eg. “a guest is on the exact same site for more than 30 seconds”. Those causes are a fantastic method to help your viewers with queries they could have. We use it on our pricing page because from time to time there are open questions regarding our pricing, possibly something is not covered in the FAQ section. This component is available in all options we analyzed and mainly available in the first paid program.
Ability to send campaign messages
From Time to Time we send emails Utilizing our live chat. We think it’s a good way to retarget our viewers because we should have the ability to send pertinent content according to some metrics those live chats provide. To be honest, we’re not sending many mails, because we also hate spam on the side. Therefore we like to send certain mails to particular target groups and : we really like the execution in the Crisp customer. It’s simple and fulfilled our needs at a reasonable price tag.
Number of brokers
The broker seats is rather Interesting, it is something you can control. You could choose 1 accounts for the entire group (which is cheap with the majority of solutions), or you might go for one seat for each team member. Since we want to have this personal approach to our clients the idea of using one account for the whole team was dropped instantly. We’ve begun to compare the first paid program against most of the high tier plans to observe the way the cost scales again. The greatest costs we found were about ~$155/m per seat where the range was somewhere from $15/m to that. We had a peek at Crisp again and found that their greatest bundle has unlimited agents chairs included. Also, their free strategy allowed 2 agents, which was great for testing. Live Chat Providers

Software Compatibility
Everybody enjoys integrations. Integrations to Slack, Telegram, Zendesk, Bitbucket, or Jira – you name it. Most live chats provide integrations to the main stations. We do not actually use integrations that much, but the one we use the most is using Slack. Slack is the principal communication tool in our company, we utilize it on a daily basis and included most of our tools already – so we focused on how they work and function together with Slack. We tested some of these and many are actually working quite well. We found one that has huge delays when messaging from and also to Slack that was a no-go for all of us. We reported that difficulty to these, but we don’t know if they changed it because we left six months ago. With Crisp the integration worked instantly, notifications came immediately and the entire set-up was completed in a couple of minutes.
Control the client via JavaScript
We are using the chat not Only on the site but also in our program itself. Users might want to report a problem or merely have a fast question about something, therefore the lead integration, and a option to initialize and hide/show the client with JavaScript was a must-have. It had been possible with the majority of live chats we’ve tried, the documentation of Crisp about their JavaScript SDK is clear and well documented so we got that running in less than 30 minutes.

Cost
This one is tricky. If you browse The last few things you noticed that we compared the lower tier plans and attribute with the highest tier plans, some are cheap at the start and become expensive as you use them. After using Crisp for six months today, and changed from a competition because of that expensive”end” and those attribute we didn’t need but might need to cover. We’re pleased to state that we think we got the best fit for us, maybe it will fit as well for you. We saw that the list of 8 facets above is all you want to find your own best fit.
