How was that choice made?
Taking a Look at the market leaders With live chat feature out there, we also found Crisp via Producthunt. After we’ve created a Spreadsheet with numerous live chat sellers, we identified that the core feature and metrics we were searching for.
What did we use before?
We’ve Used several other live chat before, which somehow shifted their attention from a live conversation to an”all in 1 company suite”. Their live chat still works, but metrics that are important for us were removed. We have used those metrics for our monthly reports, and client overviews, growth rates and more. After we were in for four months those metrics disappeared and were replaced with other metrics. We have got a leaderboard for our team members, which we didn’t use because we are searching for quality service and not quantity as well as the pricing appears to outperform the advantage. So our choice was clear at the moment: we needed to proceed.
Chat log
We found 14 days history, 30 days History and history (for higher plans this is common), also here the price scaling was interesting. All live chats we attempted had that feature, a few at higher price tagsothers combined with a badly implemented search feature, therefore the background was not available. Together with Crisp, the boundless history is already available with their original paid plan, and it not only ships with a reasonable price tag, but also their hunt works exceptionally well.
How many contacts do we want?
First, we tried to answer that Question with another question”how many clients will talk with us” – and that was wrong – we made that mistake once. We can not limit on the connections we create because we really want to earn contact with them all. Unlimited contacts was what we were looking for (at an affordable price label ). What we found were chats with 100 active contacts for $0/month that was quite pleasant, we scaled that up a little to 1,000 active contacts along with the price tag shifted from $0/m to ~$125/m or even more (~$500/m). We have had that experience of cost scaling for most of the solutions. As we did the same contact metric evaluation for Crisp we watched something different:
So at Crisp, you do not scale by use – which is enormous! They think the same way we do at Storyblok, we do not wish to limit the consumer to the use of the machine (eg. Content entries or contacts), we would like to scale as their team scales. So at Crisp you select a plan and you may scale the amounts from 10 to 10.000 contacts (or more) with exactly the exact same price tag.
Trigger events / communications
Automated triggers are Utilized to Send a specific message on predefined events, eg. “a guest is on precisely the exact same site for more than 30 seconds”. Those triggers are a fantastic method to help your viewers with questions they could have. We use it on our pricing page since from time to time there are open questions about our pricing, possibly something is not covered in the FAQ section. This part can be found in most options we tested and mainly available in the very first paid program.
Possibility to send campaign messages
From Time to Time we send emails Utilizing our live chat. We think it’s a fantastic way to retarget our viewers because we should have the ability to send relevant content according to some metrics those live chats offer. In all honesty, we are not sending many mails, because we also hate spam on the side. So we want to send specific mails to specific target groups and again: we really enjoy the implementation in the Crisp client. It is simple and satisfied our needs at a reasonable price tag.
Amount of brokers
The agent chairs is kinda Intriguing, it’s something you can control. You could choose one account for the whole team (which is cheap with the majority of solutions), or you could go for a single chair for every team member. Since we like to get that personal approach to our customers the idea of using one account for the entire group was dropped immediately. We’ve started to compare the first paid program contrary to the majority of the high tier plans to observe how the cost scales . The highest prices we discovered were approximately ~$155/m per chair where the range was somewhere from $15/m to that. We had a look at Crisp again and found their highest package has unlimited agents seats included. Also, their free plan allowed 2 agents, which was great for analyzing. Samosa Crisp With Chat

Integrations
Everybody enjoys integrations. Integrations into Slack, Telegram, Zendesk, Bitbucket, or Jira – you name it. Most live chats offer integrations to the key channels. We don’t actually use integrations that much, but the one we use the most is with Slack. Slack is the main communication tool in our business, we use it on a daily basis and added most of our tools already – so we focused on how they work and function with Slack. We analyzed some of them and many are actually working very well. We found one which has enormous delays when messaging from and also to Slack which was a no-go for all of us. We reported that difficulty to these, but we don’t know if they changed it since we left six months ago. With Crisp the integration worked immediately, notifications came immediately and the whole setup was done in a few minutes.
Control the client via JavaScript
We’re using the live chat not Only on the website but also in our program itself. Clients might want to report an issue or merely have a quick question about something, therefore the direct integration, and a possibility to initialize and hide/show the client with JavaScript was a must-have. It was possible with the majority of live chats we’ve attempted, the documentation of Crisp about their JavaScript SDK is clear and well documented so we got that running in under half an hour.

Cost
This one is tricky. If you browse The last few things you saw that we contrasted the lower tier programs and attribute with the maximum tier programs, some are economical at the start and be costly as you use them. After using Crisp for six months today, and changed from a competitor because of that expensive”ending” and those feature we didn’t need but might have to cover. We’re glad to say that we think we got the very best fit for us, maybe it will fit as well for you. We saw the list of 8 aspects above is all you want to find your best fit.
Wrap-up
We made contact with unbelievable great people (thank You!) And businesses all around the globe. We might have had the same experience with other live discussions too, but the price tag combined with the feature set Crisp does offer, we would and do recommend it to all clients that are searching for a live chat .
