Why choose Crisp? Web Chat Products
In this article I’ll cover our Experience with Crisp, why we switched, and the way you can make the perfect decision for your business and startup too. You may understand how to compare live talks and that metrics could be important for you also. Web Chat Products
How was that choice made?
Taking a Look at the market leaders With live chat feature on the market, we found Crisp via Producthunt. After we’ve created a Spreadsheet with numerous live chat vendors, we defined the core feature and metrics we were searching for.
What did we use previously?
We’ve Used multiple other live chat earlier, which somehow shifted their focus from a live conversation to an”all in 1 company suite”. Their live chat still works, but metrics which are significant for us were eliminated. We have used those metrics for our yearly reports, and client overviews, growth rates and more. After we were in for four weeks those metrics disappeared and were replaced by other metrics. We have obtained a leaderboard for our staff members, which we did not use because we’re looking for quality support rather than quantity as well as the pricing seems to outperform the advantage. So our choice was clear at that moment: we needed to move on.
We found 14 days history, 30 days History and unlimited history (for greater plans this is common), also here the price scaling was interesting. All live chats we tried had that attribute, some at higher price tagsothers combined with a badly executed search feature, therefore the background wasn’t accessible. With Crisp, the unlimited history is already available with their original paid program, and it not only ships with a reasonable price tag, also their search works exceptionally well.
How many contacts do we need?
First, we attempted to answer that Question with another question”how many clients will talk with us” – and that has been wrong – we made that mistake once. We can’t limit on the connections we create because we really wish to earn contact with all of them. Unlimited contacts was what we were searching for (at an affordable price tag). What we found were chats with 100 active contacts for $0/month that was quite nice, we scaled up that a bit to 1,000 active contacts along with the price tag switched from $0/m to ~$125/m or even more (~$500/m). We have had that experience of price scaling for most of the solutions. As we did exactly the Exact Same contact metric test for Crisp we saw something different:
So at Crisp, you don’t scale by use – which is enormous! They think the same way we do at Storyblok, we do not want to restrict the user to the usage of the system (eg. Content entries or contacts), we want to scale as their team scales. So at Crisp you choose a plan and you may scale the numbers from 10 to 10.000 contacts (or more) with exactly the same price tag.
Trigger events / messages
Automated triggers are used to Send a particular message on predefined events, eg. “a visitor is on precisely the exact same website for more than 30 seconds”. Those causes are a good method to help your audience with questions they may have. We use it on our pricing page because from time to time there are open questions about our pricing, maybe something isn’t covered in the FAQ section. This component is available in most solutions we tested and largely available in the first paid program.
Possibility to send campaign emails
From time to time we send mails Using our live chat. We think that it’s a good way to retarget our audience because we should have the ability to send relevant content according to some metrics people live chats provide. To be honest, we are not sending many emails, because we hate spam on the side. Therefore we like to send specific emails to particular target groups and again: we really enjoy the implementation in the Crisp customer. It is straightforward and fulfilled our needs at a sensible price tag.
Number of brokers
The agent chairs is rather Intriguing, it’s something you can control. You could choose 1 accounts for the whole group (which is cheap with most solutions), or you could go for one seat for every team member. Since we want to get this personal approach to our clients the notion of using one accounts for the entire group was dropped immediately. We’ve started to compare the very first paid program against most of the high tier plans to observe the way the cost scales . The greatest prices we discovered were approximately ~$155/m per chair where the range was somewhere from $15/m to this. We had a peek at Crisp again and saw that their greatest package has unlimited agents chairs included. Additionally, their free strategy allowed 2 representatives, which was great for analyzing. Everybody enjoys integrations. Integrations to Slack, Telegram, Zendesk, Bitbucket, or Jira – you name it. Most live chats provide integrations to the main stations. We don’t actually use integrations that much, but the one we use the most is using Slack. Slack is the main communication tool in our business, we use it on a daily basis and added most of our tools already – so we concentrated on how they work and function together with Slack. We tested some of these and many are actually working quite well. We found one that has huge delays when messaging from and also to Slack that was a no-go for all of us. We reported that issue to these, but we don’t know whether they changed it because we left six months ago. With Crisp the integration worked instantly, notifications came immediately and the whole setup was done in a couple of minutes.
What is Crisp?
“Crisp is the simplest way To speak with your customers. From sales to client support, Crisp is made to keep your workflow easy. From live chat to email, Crisp offers a single channel to answer to your users using a simple team inbox where you can manage all your user inquiries.”

This one is tricky. If you browse The last few things you noticed that we contrasted the lower tier plans and attribute together with the maximum tier plans, some are cheap at the start and be expensive as you use them. After using Crisp for six months today, and switched from a competitor because of the expensive”ending” and those attribute we did not need but might have to cover. We’re glad to state that we believe we have the best match for us, maybe it will fit as well for you. We saw that the listing of 8 facets above is all you need to find your own best match.
We made contact with unbelievable Fantastic people (thank You!) And businesses all around the globe. We might have had the same experience with other live discussions as well, but the price combined with the feature set Crisp does provide, we’d and do recommend it to all of clients that are searching for a live chat themselves. We have upgraded to the Crisp unlimited plan some time ago, and are glad that we made that decision.
